Transport partner
The Munckhof Group in Horst has entered into a partnership with Floriade 2012. The partnership calls for Munckhof to provide the transport to and from the car parks and all business booking facilities during the Horticultural World Expo. The cooperation was officially sealed this morning, when the contract was signed by directors Paul Beck of the Floriade and Tom Roefs of the Munckhof Group.
For Munckhof, the project means the ultimate opportunity to demonstrate the diversity of its services.
Car park shuttle
Besides organising travel for business guests during the Floriade, Munckhof will also be supplying the shuttle service that will be operating on all 185 days of the event between the specially built car parks and the ‘Floriade Terminal’ near the main entrance. Munckhof will be providing not only the actual operation, but also the entire transport planning and organisation. This relates to about 15,000 people to be carried every day.
To deploy the vehicle capacity as efficiently as possible, the preliminary planning for the project has focused strongly on the visitor numbers expected. An assessment has been made of how those visitors will arrive and depart again spread over any day. In combination with its situation close to the Floriade site, the scope and diversity of Munckhof’s fleet guarantees flexibility and rapid response to any increased demand for transport. The company will be buying additional vehicles in order to provide optimum service for the Floriade.
